Last year result 6th April 2013
We cleared the grand sum of £320-00 after expenses. And then last Saturday (13th April) at the Sustainable Bradninch sale, we raised a further £20.00.
We would like to say a special thank you to those people who made contributions of money and completed gift aid forms – thus adding to the overall sum.
Bradninch – you come up trumps every time, and you’ll be pleased to know that your input and support will help to subsidise the cost of this July’s SnackPack week-end for the children, so that, hopefully, more will be able to afford to go.
With gratitude,
Marie McAdams

Sky Diving with SkyDive UK 2011
My name is Samantha Head and I’m 19 years of age. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in March 2000 aged 9. Having experienced the highs and lows of this condition I would like to bring something positive from my experiences as diabetic individual. Firstly, I have decided to offer empathy with others as a career move, I am in the process of studying to be a children’s diabetes nurse. The reason I am doing this sky dive is not only for me but it is also for other sufferers. It’s a way of showing my appreciation to SnackPack for all the positive experiences they have provided me with throughout aging with the condition. I believe by carrying out this activity I will prove to all other diabetics involved with SnackPack that anything is achievable if your heart is set on doing so. I also believe the money raised from doing this will offer endless support and warmth in other children with diabetes by increasing their chances of interacting more with other diabetic children and their families.

My name is Glenn Edwards, I’m 38, and dad to Katie (14) who has had diabetes since she was 8 years old, and to Emily who is 12, and also husband to Julia (SnackPack’s Assistant Secretary!). I am electrical engineer and have lived in Exeter all my life. When Katie was diagnosed Diabetes was completely new to our household and like a lot of families, when diabetes came to live, we looked to SnackPack for support. We owe a lot to SnackPack in many ways. Katie has made a lot of friends through days out and the annual residential and takes diabetes in her stride. We as parents have found the support of other parents invaluable too. When I was asked to jump out of plane to raise funds for SnackPack I very quickly said yes, then after the idea sunk in I thought why the hell did I say that?'. But seriously, it was on my 'must do before I'm 40' list, and if I can raise a lot of money for this charity, then all the better”. Julia says "Glenn nearly jumped off the Sky Tower in Auckland a few years ago, but happened to be queue-jumped by someone which pushed his jump time back an hour, but unfortunately we had a ferry to catch, and he couldn't jump .... this is payback!!

My name is Clint Walker and a youngish 50 years old. I am a local business man and live in Exeter, I am a family man, and understand some of the problems that children with Diabetes go through in their lives. I am also a friend of Ellen and Barrie.
Some years ago I had the chance to do a skydive and was all geared up for it but got called away at the last minute so when Barrie told me they were organising a skydive I jumped (no pun intended) at the chance to fulfil one of my dreams and to help SnackPack.

Clint has helped SnackPack in the past by making a donation to us and now he is going to help us again by raising money on the skydive. If you would like to sponsor Clint you can do so via this web page

Sky Diving with SkyDive UK 2013 Elle and Lou
wow what a cold and winter day, but what a warm glow we had inside when we met Elle, Lou with their families and friends. Neither showed any nerves throughout their wait to take to the skies, but when they did the cheer that came from the crowd was fantastic. Thank you for what you took on for our group.
